Jedes Jahr kommen unzählige Individuen vieler Fledermausarten durch Schlag oder Barotrauma an Windenergieanlagen zu Tode; insbesondere an Altanlagen ohne Abschaltalgorithmen. Darüber hinaus sind auch noch viele weitere Fledermausarten durch Habitatverlust negativ vom Ausbau der erneuerbaren Energien betroffen. Manche der betroffenen Fledermausarten verzeichnen bereits einen stagnierenden oder sogar negativen Bestandstrend und insbesondere beim Großen Abendsegler wird die Bestandsabnahme mit der hohen Zahl an Fatalitäten an Windenergieanlagen in Verbindung gebracht. Für viele Fledermausarten ist daher die effektive Umsetzung von Populations-stützenden Maßnahmen dringend geboten. Daher sollen in diesem Vorhaben für insgesamt 5-10 besonders vom Ausbau erneuerbarer Energien betroffene Fledermausarten Arten-Aktionspläne erarbeitet werden. Arten-Aktionspläne dienen u.a. dazu, Ziele und geeignete Maßnahmen für die Arten festzuhalten und Maßnahmen großräumig im Verbund zu steuern und dadurch besonders wirksam zu machen. Auf diese Weise tragen Arten-Aktionspläne dazu bei, dass sich der Erhaltungszustand von Arten nicht verschlechtert, sondern möglichst verbessert. Die Ergebnisse des Vorhabens sollen mit den Fachbehörden der Bundesländer geteilt und sowohl als BfN-Schriften als auch auf der Homepage des BfN veröffentlicht werden, so dass die Arten-Aktionspläne möglichst breit in der praktischen Umsetzung von effektiven, Populations-stützenden Maßnahmen resultieren.
