Summary

Machine-generated summary

This tender seeks a contractor to create the web page for the ERC-BROKENSONG project, an Irish research initiative. The project's main research output is a substantial digital corpus of medieval music supporting the study of musical style in medieval Britain and Ireland and the investigation of medieval musical sources and repertories. The technical development encodes Insular compositions from c.1150 to c.1350, capturing musical content and the characteristics of the medieval notation in which the music was originally recorded. The resulting data must support computational and music-analytical research while preserving information about notation, verbal texts and other features of the original sources.

Description

One of the major research outputs of the ERC-BROKENSONG project is to create a substantial digital corpus of medieval music to support the study of musical style in medieval Britain and Ireland and the wider investigation of their medieval musical sources and repertories. A principal aim of the technical development is to create computer-based encodings of this Insular repertoire of compositions from c.1150 to c.1350, including information about both the musical content and the characteristics of the medieval notation in which the music was originally recorded. The resulting data will support computational and music-analytical research while preserving information about notation, verbal texts and other features of the original sources.

Expected award price

likely award for this notice, from its published estimate of €50,000
€49,500 to €50,000

Comparable awards in this country and sector came in at a median of 100% of their published estimate, half of them between 99% and 100%, based on 327 awards of the last 3 years.

Each award is compared with the estimate of the same lots, framework agreements excluded. A published estimate may include options and renewals, so an award under it is not always a discount.

What this market pays

The buyer has too few awards of its own in this sector, so this is the range of the last 1,337 awards for IT services in Ireland.
