Description
The City of Edinburgh Council (the Council) is looking to develop a residential led scheme on the site of the former Castlebrae High School, located in the North East Locality, off Greendykes Road.
The site is approximately 4.36 hectares (10.77 acres) in size. The scheme has been developed to the end of RIBA Stage 2 with a preferred design identified.
This development opportunity seeks to deliver an energy efficient and sustainable development that supports the Council’s aim of achieving net zero carbon by 2030.
Award against framework: New Build Housing Framework Agreement
This notice is in reference to a Direct Award made via ranking on Lot 1.3 of the City of Edinburgh Council's New Build Housing Framework Agreement (ref: CT1340).
Please note that it is the intention of the Council to enter into a two stage appointment with the Contractor in relation to services and works for this Development.
However, it should be noted that the initial and currently only completed contractual appointment is the Stage One Pre-Development Agreement, which will establish the basis upon which Stage Two will be carried out. A separate notice will be published if Stage Two is awarded.
Award of Stage Two is subject to internal approvals, mutual agreement with the contractor and successful completion of the pre-development period. Should it become evident through work undertaken in Pre-Development that enabling works are optimally required then these shall be treated as a works contract issued in advance of the principal Stage Two appointment.
It is a mandatory requirement of this Contract that a prompt payment clause is present in all Contracts used in the delivery of the requirements. This ensures payment of sub-contractors at all stages of the supply chain within 30 days and includes an obligation to provide a point of contact for sub-contractors to refer to in the case of payment difficulties. This will require active monitoring of payment performance as well as the provision of evidence and reports to the Council on request or as contractually scheduled.
