Replacement construction of a foot and cycle path bridge at Obertor 54 in Schmalkalden (BW 08 at the 'Schwemmbruecke')

The City Administration of Schmalkalden is procuring the replacement construction of a foot and cycle path bridge at Obertor 54 in Schmalkalden (structure BW 08, known as the 'Schwemmbruecke'). Works include site setup and traffic safety, about 2 m3 of reinforced concrete abutments including earthworks, restoring and re-pointing natural stone masonry, adapting pavement and slope protection, stone fill in the former ditch area, and two concrete pipe culverts DN 300. This is a national restricted procedure under VOB with a mandatory ex-ante announcement under Section 20 (4) VOB/A. Works are expected to start on 03.08.2026 and must be completed by 04.09.2026. No legal right to participate in the restricted procedure exists. Small firms in natural stone, bridge, paving and earthworks trades may be relevant.
