Summary

Machine-generated summary

Bäderland Hamburg GmbH, which operates public swimming pools for the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, awarded a contract for an AI-supported drowning detection system to be implemented in all operated indoor pools. Each location uses ceiling cameras above the pools, down to 4.8 m water depth, staff smartwatches and server equipment. Camera-based monitoring of movement patterns is evaluated anonymously by AI software per site, and alerts about potential swimming accidents are sent to duty staff, who can acknowledge them. The system learns from feedback to reduce false alarms and had to be uniform across all sites. The contract was awarded.
