Cover must be provided as required by each won contract, with a separate registration per tender. It is an all risks insurance; the current total insured sum is about EUR 3.6 billion, with liability limited to EUR 50 million per claim. The framework is split into Lot 1 (lead contract) and Lot 2 (co-participation). Insurers can bid; a separate procedure covers the excess contract.
