Auf Basis dieser Ausgangslage wird ein skalierbares Enterprise-storage-System ausgeschrieben, das ausreichend Kapazität für heutige und zukünftige Forschungsdaten bietet, hohe Verfügbarkeit sicherstellt, ein breites Spektrum an Protokollen und Workloads unterstützt und modular über Jahrzehnte erweiterbar ist. Das Speichersystem muss als skalierbares Enterprise-Storage-System ausgelegt sein, das mindestens 10 PB-Gesamtkapazität erreichen kann. Dies kann durch Scale-Out-Architekturen, Clustering mehrerer Chassis oder modulare Erweiterungseinheiten erfolgen.
