The Schloss Dyck Foundation intends to renaturalise and revitalise the Kelzenberger Bach, a stream that dried up due to groundwater lowering from the Garzweiler open-cast mine. Within Schloss Dyck landscape park, the stream will be integrated into the water supply system of the castle moats, renaturalised over 800 metres and made accessible again. Nearby areas of the stream and moats will be redesigned sustainably, in line with heritage protection and tourism, with an educational trail on ecology, biodiversity, water and climate adaptation. A play and experience area will be created at the dried-up Breitweiher pond. Works are tendered in three lots: stream revitalisation, temple garden island landscaping, and the Breitweiher play area.
