Für das Tierhaus am Max-Planck-Institut für molekulare Zellbiologie und Genetik in Dresden (MPI-CBG ) werden die belüfteten Tierkäfige inklusive Racks in Form von 30 Stück DVC Käfigracks neu beschafft. Die zu beschaffenden Käfigsysteme müssen folgende Anforderungen erfüllen: Die zu beschaffenden Käfigsysteme werden zu - und abluftseitig über die bestehenden Anschluss-Bypass-Boxen direkt an das Leitungsnetz der zentralen RLT-Anlage angeschlossen. Diese Bypass-Boxen sowie die Ventilationseinheiten bleiben bestehen. Die neuen Käfigracks werden dort angeschlossen und auf die jeweilige Käfiganzahl eingestellt. Das zu liefernde neue IVC-System muss aufgrund der vorhandenen teilautomatischen Flaschenreinigungsanlage im Bestand mit den vorhandenen Tränkeflaschen und Flaschenkörben kompatibel sein. Weiterhin muss zwingend eine Kompatibilität der neu zu liefernden IVC-Gestelle mit den vorhandenen Anschluss-Bypass-Boxen und Ventilationseinheiten im Bestand für die Be- und Entlüftung sowie für die Reinigung mit der bestehenden Reinigungsanlagentechnik gewährleistet sein. Zur Minimierung des unspezifischen Stresses im Tier müssen Umsetzzeiten während der Ruhephase der Tiere durch einen bedarfsgerechten Wechsel mit dem neu zu liefernden IVC-Käfigsystem reduziert werden können. Hierfür ist eine digitale, softwaregestützte 24/7-Kontrolle der Einstreukondition durch eine am IVC-Gestell angebrachte, nicht invasive Sensorik erforderlich, die einen bedarfsgerechten Käfigwechsel ermöglicht, so dass Käfige nur dann gewechselt und Tiere umgesetzt werden, wenn ein definierter Verschmutzungsgrad erreicht ist. Zur Sicherstellung der Versorgung der Tiere mit Wasser und Futter, muss eine Erkennung ausgelaufener Wasserflaschen und ein minimaler Futterstand in der Futterraufe möglich sein, inklusive automatischer Alarmierung per E-Mail. Die für die o.g. Funktionen notwendige Sensorik am IVC-Gestell muss dauerhaft montiert sein und aus hygienischen Gründen maschinell reinigbar (bei 55°C und 82°C) und autoklavierbar (bei 121°C) sein. Das Verschlusssystem der Käfige muss geräuschlos und einfach bedienbar sein, um Stress für die Tiere zu vermeiden. Die Luftführung im Käfig muss einen zielgerichteten Luftstrom ermöglichen, der die Einstreu trocken hält und die Tiere nicht durch Zugluft belastet. Dies ist durch nicht-invasive Zu- und Abluftdüsen in der Käfighaube sicherzustellen.
