Die Universitätsmedizin Greifswald fördert in verschiedenen Bereichen translational orientierte Forschungsansätze, bei denen lebende Zellkulturen, komplexe 3D-Modelle und Immunzell-Ko-Kulturen eingesetzt werden. Besonders in der patientennahen Forschung, z.B. mit Primärzellen aus Biopsien oder chirurgischem Material, ist ein kontinuierliches, nichtinvasives Monitoring zellulärer Prozesse essenziell - insbesondere, wenn nur begrenztes Ausgangsmaterial zur Verfügung steht. Aktuell steht im Forschungslabor der Chirurgischen Klinik kein eigenständiges Live-Cell-Imaging-System zur Verfügung. Dies erschwert die Durchführung komplexer Langzeitexperimente und führt zu aufwendiger Endpunktanalytik, welche sowohl personal- als auch materialintensiv ist. Die geplante Anschaffung eines Live-Cell-Imaging-Systems stellt daher eine entscheidende Grundlage für die Weiterentwicklung innovativer immuntherapeutischer Projekte dar. Gleichzeitig wird die neue Infrastruktur auch anderen Forschungseinheiten der Universitätsmedizin Greifswald, der Universität sowie potenziellen wirtschaftlichen Kooperationspartnern offenstehen.
