Ziel des Projekts ist die Erweiterung und Leistungssteigerung der bestehenden Fernwärmeinfrastruktur im Bereich Köln Ossendorf / Butzweilerhof. Durch die zusätzliche Verlegung einer neuen Transportleitung DN 350 zwischen Schacht 505 und DEA Coloneum, parallel zur bestehenden Leitung DN 200, sollen neue Kunden versorgt, die Versorgungssicherheit erhöht, Netzengpässe vermindert und die zukünftige Netzentwicklung (einschließlich potenzieller zusätzlicher Einspeiser und Verbraucher) ermöglicht werden. Vergabelos 1 umfasst den nördlichen Trassenabschnitt zwischen Höhe des Schachts 505 und der nördlichen Seite des Militärrings (L93). Dieser Abschnitt beinhaltet die Verlegung der neuen DN 350-Transportleitung entlang der Johannesstraße bis zum nördlichen Übergabepunkt am Militärring, einschließlich aller erforderlichen Planungs-, Tief-, Rohr-, Armaturen- und Sicherungsarbeiten. Der Schacht 505 wird im Zuge der Maßnahme nicht geändert, die Anbindung erfolgt vor diesem.; Vergabelos 2 umfasst die vorzugsweise in offener Bauweise herzustellende Querung des Militärrings auf Höhe der Johannesstraße. Die technische Machbarkeit der offenen Bauweise ist noch zu prüfen. Der Abschnitt beinhaltet die Neuverlegung der DN 350-Transportleitung einschließlich sämtlicher erforderlicher Planungs-, Tiefbau-, Rohrleitungs-, Armaturen- und Sicherungsarbeiten.; Vergabelos 3 umfasst den südlichen Abschnitt ab der südlichen Seite des Militärrings bis zur Butzweilerhofallee. Die Trasse verläuft entlang der Richard-Byrd-Straße, der Melli-Beese-Straße sowie der Claudius-Dornier-Straße und endet an der geplanten Einbindung in die Bestandstrasse DN 200 kurz vor der Druckerhöhungsanlage. Dieser Abschnitt beinhaltet die Verlegung der neuen DN 350-Transportleitung, einschließlich aller erforderlichen Planungs-, Tief-, Rohr-, Armaturen- und Sicherungsarbeiten.
