Description

Die Universität Hamburg (im Folgenden „UHH“) ist als Exzellenzuniversität mit mehr als 43.000 Studierenden und ca. 6.000 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern eine der forschungsstärksten Universitäten Deutschlands und gleichzeitig eine der größten Ausbildungseinrichtungen Norddeutschlands. Mit ihrem Konzept der „Flagship University“ in der Metropolregion Hamburg pflegt sie innovative und kooperative Verbindungen zu wissenschaftlichen und außerwissenschaftlichen Partnern. Sie produziert für den Standort - aber auch national und international - die zukunftsgerichteten gesellschaftlichen Güter Bildung, Erkenntnis und Austausch von Wissen unter dem Leitziel der Nachhaltigkeit. Die Präsidien der 6 Hamburger Hochschulen haben im April 2024 einen Letter of Intent zu einem gemeinsamen IT-Betrieb der Hamburger Hochschulen gezeichnet. Ziel ist die Gründung einer gemeinsamen Organisation, die durch die Hochschulen gesteuert wird und ihre Bedürfnisse versteht, bündelt, implementiert und qualitativ hochwertige IT-Dienste spezifisch für Wissenschaftseinrichtungen im gesamten Dienstespektrum bereitstellt. Es soll ein Dienstleistungszentrum aufgebaut und etabliert werden, mit dem Ziel Synergien zu schaffen und somit die digitalen Services effizienter, zielgerichteter und nutzendenzentrierter, umfangreicher und gleichzeitig mit besser Qualität und Absicherung gegen Cyberangriffe zur Verfügung zu stellen. Diese Organisation soll einen essentiellen Beitrag zur Verbesserung und Intensivierung der Digitalisierung an den Hochschulen leisten und eine strategisch wichtige Entwicklungsperspektive eröffnen. Ein gemeinsamer zentraler IT-Betrieb bietet eine effektive und effiziente Möglichkeit, den Hochschulen trotz ihrer unterschiedlichen IT-Systemlandschaften qualitativ hochwertige IT-Dienstleistungen bereitzustellen. Voraussetzungen sind eine passende Governance und ein darauf abgestimmtes Finanzierungsmodell. Das Projekt “Gemeinsamer IT-Betrieb der Hamburger Hochschulen” hat das Ziel, einen solchen Dienstleister für die Hamburger Hochschulen zu gründen und zu etablieren. Eine spätere Ausweitung des Angebots des Dienstleisters auf wissenschaftliche Einrichtungen in anderen Bundesländern ist dabei nicht ausgeschlossen.
