Es besteht im Wesentlichen aus drei webbasierten Anwendungen - der BLC-Website, www.businesslocationcenter.de, dem Immobilienportal und dem Wirtschaftsatlas Berlin. Diese werden von der Auftraggeberin, der Berliner Wirtschaftsfördergesellschaft, Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH (BPWT), im Rahmen der Ansiedlung, Expansion und Standortsicherung von Unternehmen eingesetzt. Das BLC bündelt verfügbaren Daten zum Wirtschaftsstandort generell, z.B. Konjunktur, Demografie, zu Branchen, Gewerbeimmobilien, Förderung und Finanzierung, Arbeitsmarkt, Wissenschaft und Forschung, Infrastruktur sowie den Serviceleistungen der Auftraggeberin. Das BLC bietet: - Informationen, die Unternehmen zum Wirtschaftsstandort Berlin benötigen; - die sekundenschnelle Verfügbarkeit der Berliner Wirtschaftsdaten; - eine moderne Präsentation mit einem virtuellen 3D-Stadtmodell und aktueller Geoinformationen (Wirtschaftsatlas Berlin); 2- und 3-dimensionale Darstellung Berlins - stets aktuelle Informationen zu Gewerbeflächen in einem Immobilienportal.
