Germany - Engineering services - Rostock, Carl-Hopp-Strasse - Value Engineering (microtunnelling), structural design services phases 2-3

The city of Rostock is procuring structural engineering design services (German HOAI service phases 2 to 3, sections 49 to 52) as part of value engineering for a microtunnelling project. The existing Werftstrasse sewage pumping station, built in the 1960s, pumps up to about 2,800 m3/h to the central treatment plant but has limited retention capacity and needs modernisation. Instead of a simple replacement, wastewater will be conveyed via a new gravity channel built by microtunnelling under Carl-Hopp-Strasse, with an Archimedes screw lift at the treatment plant, plus a retention tank and a throttle shaft. Interface coordination with other planners is required.
