Der Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis in Mosbach plant die Generalsanierung der Ludwig-Erhard-Schule, Kaufmännische Schulen Mosbach, in zentraler Innenstadtlage im Katzenhorn. Die Generalsanierung umfasst die Gebäudeteile A und B mit etwa 8015 m² BGF aus den 70er Jahren. Die Turnhalle ist nicht Bestandteil der Sanierung. Die Gebäude der Ludwig-Erhard-Schule liegen in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft zu den Gebäuden der Pestalozzi-Realschule, dem Nikolaus-Kistner-Gymnasium, dem Freibad und der Jahnhalle. Das Grundstück wird durch einen großen Parkplatz am Hammerweg, die Jean de la Fontaine Straße, den das Stadtgebiet teilenden Bach Elz und das Freibadaußengelände begrenzt. Die Energieversorgung des Schulareals erfolgt aktuell über eine im Gebäude befindliche Trafostation, eine PV-Anlage und einen Anschluss an das örtliche Fernwärmenetz. Im Rahmen einer Machbarkeitsstudie aus dem Jahr 2024 wurde die Machbarkeit einer energetischen Sanierung und Modernisierung der Bauteile A und B untersucht. Hierbei sollte auch die Verbesserung der Barrierefreiheit u.a. durch Errichtung eines Aufzuges, berücksichtigt werden. Technische Anlagen wurden während der Nutzungsdauer zwar instandgehalten und teilweise erneuert, sollen nun aber im Rahmen der Generalsanierung neu konzeptioniert und nach Notwendigkeit vollständig erneuert werden. Insbesondere die Gebäudehülle, der in Stahlbetonskelettbauweise errichteten Gebäude, soll energetisch optimiert werden. Im Rahmen der Generalsanierung erfolgt ebenfalls eine Neubewertung der brandschutztechnischen Eigenschaften der Gebäude und der vorhandenen Baukonstruktionen. Für die Dauer der Generalsanierung im laufenden Schulbetrieb ist eine teilweise Auslagerung von Klassen in eine Containeranlage geplant. Tragwerksplanung
