Verkehrsgesellschaft Kreis Herford GmbH (VKH), a newly founded public transport operator in the district of Herford, Germany, is procuring the supply and maintenance of one hydrogen bus (12 metres), including spare parts and services, as stage 2 of its procurement strategy. VKH will operate local bus services in the Herford district from 1 August 2026 and plans a fleet of more than 70 vehicles. Delivery should be as soon as possible by 1 March 2028; the exact date will be fixed in negotiations. A 10-year service and spare parts contract starts on 1 March 2028.
