Die Stadt Nürnberg - vertreten durch das Hochbauamt der Stadt Nürnberg - führt im Herrenschießhaus und dem anschließenden Speichergebäude in der Unteren Talgasse 8 in Nürnberg den Umbau zu einem Kinder- und Jugendhaus und einem Kinderhort durch. Das Anwesen der Unteren Talgasse 8 ist ein hochrangiges Baudenkmal der Stadt Nürnberg. Ein Naturdenkmal, eine ca. 300 Jahre alte Platane, befindet sich im alten Schießgraben des Anwesens. Durch die Baumaßnahme des ehemaligen Herrenschießhauses werden für das Jugendamt zwei neue wichtige Einrichtungen im Bereich der Altstadt entstehen. Im EG und der historischen Säulenhalle wird ein Kinder- und Jugendhaus zu finden sein, sowie im Obergeschoss ein Kinderhort.
