Die Ruhrbahn GmbH sichert im Auftrag der Stadt die Mobilität der Bürger und verbindet die einzelnen Stadtteile mit Bus, U-Bahn und Straßenbahn. Sie ist Mitglied im Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr. Eine der Aufgaben liegt im Bereich der Instandhaltung und des Neubau der Infrastruktur für Busse und Straßenbahnen. Dies bezieht sich sowohl auf das Streckennetz, als auch auf die dazugehörigen baulichen Anlagen, Betriebshöfe, Verwaltungsgebäude und eine große Anzahl kleinerer Immobilien. Die geplanten Arbeiten betreffen das Stellwerksgebäude auf dem Betriebshof Schweriner Straße in Essen. Die hier ausgeschriebene Leistungen umfassen die Stahlbauarbeiten, außen stehende Treppenhausanlage mit Zugang auch zur Dachfläche. Treppenübergang zum Nachbargebäude, Schacht- Leitern der neuen Kabelzugschächte, Leiteranlage mit zwei Podesten im EG und OG Installations- Schacht Gebäude, Vordach Gebäude OG.
