CWF Lot 2A - Reconstruction of Old Row, Stainton Retaining Wall

Westmorland and Furness Council has awarded a contract for the design and reconstruction of approximately 7m length of damaged highway retaining wall at Old Row, Stainton. The works also include masonry repairs such as localised patch repairs and partial rebuild of additional collapsed sections, plus vegetation removal and localised scour repairs. The contract was won by Metcalfe Plant Hire Ltd for EUR 96,986.99. The awarded price is the same as the estimate, within 1%. Construction works are to be completed during the 2027 summer in-river working window, subject to obtaining all required environmental permits. The contract was awarded on 2026-09-14 and the deadline for bids was 2026-09-04.
