The South Downs National Park Authority awarded a contract for surface repairs and improvements to the South Downs Way National Trail at Salt Hill, East Meon, Hampshire. The South Downs Way is a 100 mile long-distance path crossing the South Downs National Park, made up of public rights of way and used all-year round by walkers, cyclists and equestrians. A section of path had deteriorated from heavy use and surface water erosion, requiring repair and drainage improvements to maintain high standards of access. The works also include replacing two metal field gates and a removable bollard. The contract was awarded to MORTON PATTISON LTD.
