The Belgian railway company NMBS is procuring technical inspection services for products, materials and assemblies manufactured in factories or workshops, prior to their installation on construction sites in the Belgian railway domain. This covers civil engineering works and new construction, extension or renovation of buildings or platforms, excluding rail infrastructure. Inspections cover structural steel, aluminium products, anti-corrosion systems, cast, reinforced and prestressed concrete, steel-concrete composite structures, supports for engineering structures, expansion joints and electrical equipment. Inspections are based on test results on samples where needed, mainly for production made in the European Economic Area, though production outside the EEA remains possible.
