Die Kantonspolizei Bern beabsichtigt, das derzeit eingesetzte Vorgangsbearbeitungssystem bis spätestens Ende 2030 durch ein Alternativprodukt abzulösen. Anlass hierfür ist insbesondere das per 31. Dezember 2030 endende Supportangebot von SAP für die Technologiebasis von Rialto. Im Rahmen einer umfangreichen Evaluation wurden die Migration beziehungsweise technologische Erneuerung der bestehenden Rialto-Lösung von R3 auf S/4 geprüft, der Markt für geeignete Ersatzlösungen analysiert und die daraus hervorgegangenen Lösungsvarianten miteinander verglichen. Dabei stellte sich heraus, dass als Anschlusslösung einzig das Produkt «myABI/icm» von LobObject AG in Frage kommt. Ein Weiterbetrieb von Rialto über das Jahr 2030 hinaus wäre mit erheblichen technischen, betrieblichen und wirtschaftlichen Risiken verbunden. Auch die übrigen auf dem Markt verfügbaren Lösungen genügen den Anforderungen der Kantonspolizei Bern an ein etabliertes und zukunftsfähiges Vorgangsbearbeitungssystem nicht.
