Ekerö kommun avser att upphandla ett digitalt, molnbaserat bibliotekssystem för folk- och skolbiblioteksverksamhet med tillhörande publik webbplats för folkbiblioteksverksamheten. Syftet med upphandlingen är att säkerställa en långsiktigt hållbar, flexibel och användarvänlig digital infrastruktur som stödjer biblioteken i Ekerös uppdrag att främja läsning, kunskap, delaktighet och demokrati. Bibliotekssystemet och tillhörande publik webbplats ska möta dagens och framtidens behov hos invånare, besökare och medarbetare enligt Bilaga - Kravspecifikation. Kultur- och fritidsförvaltningen i Ekerö kommun är beställare och mottagare av det upphandlade systemet. Nuläge Kultur- och fritidsförvaltningen i Ekerö kommun använder idag bibliotekssystemet Book-IT och den integrerade webbplatsen Axiell Arena Nova. Ekerö kommun uppskattar att cirka 25 medarbetare inom kultur- och fritidsförvaltningen använder systemet och webbplatsen idag. Antalet biblioteksanvändare i bibliotekssystemet idag är cirka 4000 inom skolbiblioteksverksamheten och cirka 10 000 inom folkbiblioteksverksamheten. Antalet besök på den publika webbplatsen uppskattas till cirka 100 000 om året och sker från både mobiltelefon och dator. Tidplan Ekerö kommun planerar att tilldela upphandlingen i november 2026 och har som krav att ett nytt bibliotekssystem med tillhörande installation, migrering och implementation ska vara fullt fungerande och i drift senast 15 mars 2027.
