Värmdö kommun har påbörjat arbetet med detaljplan för Gustavsbergs centrum, vilken har stöd i översiktsplanen. Syftet med detaljplanen är att möjliggöra ny bostadsbebyggelse, lokaler för centrumändamål samt offentliga rum för att ge förutsättningar för ett livskraftigt centrum med liv och rörelse och trevliga miljöer att visats i. Vidare ska förutsättningar för en ny genomfartsgata mellan Skärgårdsvägen och Aspviksvägen studeras. Uppdraget syftar att ta fram en miljökonsekvensbeskrivning för detaljplanen till planens samråd. Det ingår även att ta fram underlag och utföra ett avgränsningssamråd tillsammans med kommunen.
