Summary

Machine-generated summary

EPFL intends to acquire a metal reactive ion etching plasma system for its Centre de MicroNanoTechnologie (CMi), a cleanroom facility for micro and nano fabrication serving all EPFL faculties and local industry with over 650 active users per year. The equipment must handle square photomasks and standard wafers of various dimensions and will be dedicated to advanced research in micro and nano fabrication, in particular etching Chrome layers deposited on lithography masks, reticles and wafers. Key criteria are etch quality, avoidance of cross-contamination between different materials, ease of use, quick learning for new users, robust yet flexible process control in an R&D environment, and supplier proximity, responsiveness and technical support.
