Mit dem Bundeskonzept Grüne Infrastruktur (BKGI) liegt ein unverbindliches Fachkonzept des Naturschutzes auf Bundesebene vor. Eine Weiterentwicklung wird im Rahmen des F+E-Vorhabens „Fortschreibung des Bundeskonzeptes Grüne Infrastruktur“ (FKZ 3523811600) erfolgen. Die Flächenkulissen der Grünen Infrastruktur (GI) sowie die Fachkonzepte innerhalb des BKGI sind von gesamtstaatlicher Relevanz, in denen Anforderungen des Naturschutzes und der Landschaftspflege (z.B. Renaturierung, naturbasierter Klimaschutz, Kompensation) auf nachgeordneten Planungsebenen konkretisiert, qualifiziert und gesichert werden können. Es sind Handlungsempfehlungen zu erarbeiten, wie insbesondere durch die räumliche Planung diese Kulissen/Räume identifiziert, konkretisiert und gesichert werden können. Wesentliche Aspekte umfassen die planerische Einbindung dieser Räume auf raumplanerisch determinierten Planungs- und Umsetzungsebenen. Hierzu ist insbesondere eine Auswertung zu den bisherigen Festlegungen der Regionalpläne vorzunehmen. Das Produkt richtet sich insbesondere an Raumplanungsträger der Länder, Regionen und Kommunen. Das Aufzeigen gelungener Praxisbeispiele dient als Motivator für weiterführende Planungsprozesse.
