Der Campus Hönggerberg wird mit dem Lehr- und Forschungsgebäude HWS erweitert. Das zukunftsweisende, innovative und nachhaltige Hochhaus soll der zentrale Anlaufpunkt auf dem Campus werden. Mit dem Neubau HWS werden zudem die zentralen neue Freiräume "Square" & "Teilbereich Querachse" für den Gesamtcampus realisiert. In den öffentlichen Geschossen finden sich Nutzungen wie das Dienstleistungszentrum der Zukunft, Gastronomie und Detailhandelangebote, grosszügige Lehr- und Lernflächen wie auch die neue ETH-Bibliothek. In den Obergeschossen wird eine innovative und neue Arbeitswelt, vorwiegend für das Departement Informatik, realisiert. Als Herzstück des Gebäudes verbindet das Forum alle öffentlichen Nutzungen und dient als Begegnungs-, Arbeits- und multifunktionale Ausstellungs- und Veranstaltungsfläche. In den Untergeschossen entstehen hochwertige Archivräume für das gta-Archiv.
