Renovation of old digester, BL01, residual emptying and cleaning

The buyer, the wastewater association RHV Ried, requires residual emptying of approximately 250 cubic metres of digested sludge from the old digester and subsequent cleaning of that tank. The old digester has a volume of 1260 cubic metres, dates from 1969, and is a classic European egg-shaped design with conical sections at top and bottom and a reinforced concrete cylindrical middle with interior coating. The remaining sludge is to be discharged into the smaller of three supernatant water basins so that sand and debris can settle. The sludge, largely freed of coarse and interfering matter, is then temporarily stored in the two other basins. Works are scheduled for calendar week 15.
