Binnen het Vidi-project RESCAPE onderzoekt Radboudumc hoe maatschappelijke opvattingen en voorstellingen over leven met en behandelen van psychische aandoeningen invloed hebben op het gebruik van verplichte zorg en dwangmaatregelen in de kinder- en jeugdpsychiatrie. Deze maatregelen, die meestal worden toegepast bij patiënten die in (levens)gevaar zijn, roepen morele stress op vanwege de mogelijke schade voor zowel patiënten als zorgverleners. RESCAPE combineert onderzoek naar persoonlijke verhalen, geschiedenis, media met theater om dwangzorg-praktijken en hun culturele basis kritisch te onderzoeken. Het project heeft als doel alternatieve benaderingen te verkennen, betere besluitvorming met jongeren te bevorderen en trauma te verminderen. In dit project zoeken we naar binnen korte termijn een intensieve samenwerking met een theatergezelschap dat dit project een extra impuls kan geven. Het theatergezelschap moet in staat zijn om vanuit ruime ervaring kunnen bijdragen aan wetenschappelijk onderzoek.
