The town of Imst is extending its inert waste landfill with soil excavation compartment 'Gunglgrüner Schlucht'. The works include renewing the flow of the Gunglgrüner stream through the landfill body and the existing settling basin at the pipeline inlet. The stream channel, currently a masonry canal with a cover slab, will be rerouted into a newly laid cast-iron pipeline. At the end of the pipeline, a drop shaft with an impact plate will be built where water re-enters the existing channel, located at the foot of the landfill embankment behind a supporting stone wall. Excavation with shotcrete stabilisation of the terrain behind the wall is required.
