Aquavas SA Vaslui are ca obiect principal de activitate Captarea, tratarea si distributia apei potabile catre consumatori (persoane fizice si persoane juridice), precum si colectarea/epurarea apelor uzate. Activitatea presupune si intretinerea tuturor retelelor ( de aductiune, de distributie, de colectare si evacuare a apelor uzate). O parte din retelele de colectare si evacuare a apelor uzate din municipiile Bârlad, Vaslui și Huși, sunt invechite si prezinta un grad inalt de colmatare. De aceea, periodic aceste portiuni trebuie supuse unor operatiuni de decolmatare, care nu se pot realiza cu forte proprii, ci numai de catre operatori economici specializati, cu echipamente speciale.
