Der Energie Service Biel/Bienne (ESB) plant die Realisierung von Photovoltaik (PV)-Anlage auf diversen Firmengeländen sowie die Entwicklung eines Dienstleistungsmodells zur PV-Integration für private Haushalte. Derzeit existiert keine grossflächige PV-Anlage auf dem ESB-Dach. Die vorhandene Netzinfrastruktur kann zur Einspeisung erneuerbarer Energien genutzt werden, benötigt jedoch eine genaue Analyse zur Kapazitätsprüfung und Netzstabilität. Zudem sind private Haushalte bisher nicht direkt in das PV-Angebot der ESB eingebunden, wodurch die Möglichkeiten zur Eigenstromnutzung und Vermarktung ungenutzt bleiben. Neben den technischen Voraussetzungen spielen wirtschaftliche und organisatorische Aspekte eine zentrale Rolle.
