Design: Kostheim Lock - Strengthening of the sheet pile walls of the north chamber

The buyer is seeking design and calculation services to strengthen the chamber sheet pile walls of the north lock at Kostheim. After an emergency repair in 2025, the walls must be upgraded for a remaining service life of about 30 years. This may be done using a facing shell, an anchoring system behind the existing sheet pile walls, or a combination of both. The work is complicated by other structures of the barrage, including a second lock chamber, a boat lock, the weir and a hydropower plant, and existing anchorages must be considered. In the final state the chamber width of 14.70 m must not be reduced (current width 15.00 m).
