Le service des ponts et chaussées de Neuchâtel (SPCH), par son office des cours d’eau et dangers naturels (OEDN), en collaboration avec le service cantonal de l’aménagement du territoire (SCAT) étudie la possibilité de valoriser les matériaux propres de creuse du tunnel de la ligne directe (ou d’autres projets d’importance cantonale) sous l’égide de la revitalisation lacustre. Le projet vise la réalisation des documents utiles à des plans d’affectation cantonaux valant sanction définitive (PACSD) sur la revitalisation lacustre
