Description

To repair damage on 213 ha of peatland within RSPB Oa nature reserve on Islay. To restore blanket bog functionality. Peatland restoration activities will include: gully and drain blocking using peat and plastic and reprofiling. Contractors must attend the compulsory site visit (12th August 2026 meet 10am - 3pm) if they wish to Tender for this work; this will enable contractors to have an opportunity to have a look over any parts of the restoration which are harder to cost and check anything they are unsure about. Numbers will be limited to one person per bidder due to access constraints. The site visit will be via foot from the designated parking area from the Oa - Monument visitors car park, Islay. Bidders should be prepared to walk up to 1km over rough uneven ground to the project area.
