Description
Norwegian trains intend to develop their own Online Condition Monitoring system (hereafter called the OCM system). In order to develop the system, Norwegian trains are dependent on complete and correct data from the Flirt vehicles. In the period 2008-2012 NSB procured the vehicles through a function based competition, in which Stadler Rail Service Center (hereafter called Stadler) was the winning tenderer. The vehicles were delivered with integrated systems and proprietary computer pipelines for their Rail Data Services (RDS). Stadler has developed a specially adapted RDS system that decodes and visualises the signals from the vehicles. The system is technically exclusive and tightly integrated with the vehicle ́s architecture. Norske Tog AS needs access to complete and correct data from the FLIRT vehicles. Only Stadler can deliver this.
