Description

In 2000 zijn via de Europese Kaderrichtlijn Water (KRW) afspraken gemaakt om onze wateren weer ecologisch gezond te maken. Dit houdt in dat ze schoon zijn volgens de normen en een geschikt leefgebied vormen voor flora en fauna behorend bij het riviersysteem. Ook voor de Maas zijn maatregelen voorgesteld ter verbetering van de waterkwaliteit. KRW 7 is een pakket aan maatregelen dat een grote bijdrage levert aan de KRW-doelstellingen van de Maas. Het doel is om de afspraken die in 2000 zijn gemaakt om onze wateren weer ecologisch gezond te maken en te zorgen dat ze gezond blijven te realiseren. Het project KRW 7 kent vijftien maatregelen die gerealiseerd dienen te worden. De werkzaamheden betreffen: - het aanleggen van geulen; - het natuurvriendelijk inrichten van oevers; - het herinrichten van beekmondingen; - het uitvoeren van uiterwaardvergravingen.
