Description

De aanleiding van dit inkooptraject is de behoefte om een reeds bestaande SEM/EDX die tegen het einde van zijn levensduur aan loopt, te vervangen met een state of the art SEM/EDX. Deze wordt gebruikt voor het MIT-onderzoek en ander onderzoek dat wordt uitgevoerd binnen het team Microsporen en Materialen. Bij het MIT (Microanalyse Invasieve Trauma’s) onderzoek wordt onderzocht met of door welk voorwerp letsels zijn veroorzaakt die bij een slachtoffer van een misdrijf tijdens een gerechtelijke sectie worden aangetroffen. Dit MIT-onderzoek naar de “manner of death” wordt verricht in multidisciplinair verband door de deskundigheidsgebieden Forensische antropologie, Microsporen & Materialen en Kras-, Indruk- en Vormsporen. Voor het MIT-onderzoek worden door de patholoog tijdens de sectie letsels uitgenomen. Hierbij gaat het over het algemeen om botdelen die na het verwijderen van zacht weefsel op diverse manieren worden onderzocht. Het kan ook gaan om de wapens of objecten waarmee het letsel is veroorzaakt, zoals messen, hamers, etc. Deze aanbesteding wordt door het IUC-RIVM uitgevoerd in opdracht van en voor het Nederlands Forensisch Instituut.
