Het Kadaster gebruikt ten behoeve van verschillende taken, werkprocessen en projecten Geodetische meetapparatuur. Hierbij onderscheidt het Kadaster de volgende groepen Geodetische meetapparatuur: a) Apparatuur ten behoeve van de kadastrale inwinning en grensreconstructie; b) Apparatuur ten behoeve van de kadastrale inwinning en grensreconstructie op de BES-eilanden; c) Apparatuur ten behoeve van de landmeetkundige activiteiten voor de instandhouding van de Geodetische Infrastructuur - Rijksdriehoeksmeting; De omvang van het de opdracht is beschreven in het beschrijvend document.
