Voor twaalf Natura 2000-gebieden in Brabant wil de Provincie monitoringsplannen omgevingscondities laten opstellen. De monitoringsplannen beschrijven op welke manier omgevingscondities gemonitord, geanalyseerd en gerapporteerd gaan worden. In deze plannen wordt beschreven hoe het gebied in elkaar zit aan de hand van beschikbare Landschapsecologische Systeemanalyse's (LESA) en andere relevante informatie. Op basis van deze LESA wordt een meetnet uitgedacht voor de omgevingscondities. Binnen het monitoringsplan omgevingscondities wordt vastgelegd waar, wat en voor welk doel gemeten wordt. Vervolgens wordt beschreven op welke manier de gegevens geanalyseerd en gerapporteerd gaan worden. De monitoringsplannen dienen uiterlijk 31 december 2027 gereed te zijn. Het doel van deze opdracht is om voor twaalf Brabantse Natura 2000-gebieden volledige, consistente en toekomstbestendige monitoringsplannen omgevingscondities op te stellen gericht op het systeem. Deze plannen moeten een duidelijk en gedragen kader bieden voor het monitoren van het systeem inclusief de gebiedspecifieke drukfactoren. Denk hierbij aan de waterhuishouding en de bodemkwaliteit. Op die manier kan het natuurbeleid binnen de gebieden goed gevolgd worden. De monitoringsplannen worden ontwikkeld in lijn met de Handreiking monitoringsplannen omgevingscondities V3. De monitoring richt zich onder andere op vegetatieopnames, (grond)waterstanden en bodem- en waterchemie. Tijdens de opdracht wordt in nauwe samenwerking met alle relevante gebiedspartners gewerkt (TBO’s, waterschappen en waar nodig gemeenten of andere provincies). De inzet is om te komen tot praktische, uitvoerbare plannen die breed worden ondersteund en die een solide basis vormen voor de uitvoering van monitoring van omgevingscondities in de jaren daarna in de Brabantse Natura 2000-gebieden.
