KW Freienstein restoration of fish passability, construction works

The buyer is procuring construction works to restore fish passability at the Freienstein hydropower plant. The existing fish ladder will be dismantled and replaced by a new structure in reinforced concrete. Additional reinforced concrete structures will be built for the new screen installation and the fish descent. A bypass road is required to provide access to the property and the construction site. Excavation pits will be secured with a Berlin-type wall with timber infill, and big bags will be used on the river and pond sides. Works at the weir include concrete restoration, scour protection and refurbishment of impact floors. Parallel third-party works at the power plant and weir panels will take place.
