La Ville de VESOUL a décidé la création d'un nouveau groupe scolaire en lieu et place des écoles existantes Picasso et St-Exupéry, fermées depuis la rentrée 2024. En effet, la décision de démolir ces dernières s'explique notamment par l'état sanitaire des écoles existantes (présence d'amiante dans les locaux de type PAILLERON) mais aussi pour d'autres raisons. Les écoles existantes ne répondaient plus aux besoins de la collectivité (locaux qualitativement et quantitativement insuffisants), les conditions d'accueil et de service n'étaient plus adaptés et les contraintes de fonctionnement et de maintenance devenaient trop complexes
