The works consist of creating 3 air vent (breather) shafts to replace the 3 existing air valves on the 3 penstocks on the Miegebat Allias side. The new system must allow hydraulic regimes, including overpressures and underpressures during transient phases, that are compatible with the correct operational functioning of the 4 head valves of the penstocks (3 on the Allias side and 1 on the Bitet side). The vent shafts will be created on the existing penstocks and will run up the natural slope of the ground as far as the surge tank. This is a hydroelectric construction project at the Miegebat site.
