This contract covers the design and manufacture of the DP15, a plasma diagnostic providing 2D X-ray multi-frame imaging with 8 measurement channels. It consists of an optical block and a telescopic arm fitted with a theta-phi stage, together with various optical elements; the optical analyser (integral image X camera) is procured separately. The DP15 is inserted into the experimental chamber of the Laser Megajoule via a diagnostic insertion system outside the contract's scope, and its envelope is limited to a cylinder 300 mm in diameter, about 3 m long, ending in an 18 degree cone. The scope includes mechanical and optical studies and manufacture of the sub-assemblies, complete cabling, handling equipment, tooling and associated documentation. A firm part covers preliminary and detailed design; an optional part covers manufacturing studies, production, factory and site acceptance, supply of materials and production of additional optical blocks.
