The Presidency of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation has awarded a contract, with the award date recorded as 3 December 2024. The contract covers the maintenance, conservation and operation of the Albujón, Los Narejos and El Mojón pumping stations of the drainage network of Campo de Cartagena in Murcia. The network captures underground water and conveys it through three pumping stations to the transfer canal of Campo de Cartagena for reuse as irrigation water. The service includes keeping the whole drainage evacuation system fully operational, correcting previously detected problems and ensuring all waters are evacuated to prevent their entry into the Mar Menor and allow their use for irrigation.
