El Almacén de Abastos forma parte del conjunto histórico de fortificaciones de la Almina, declarado BIC en la categoría de Monumento. Constituye uno de los restos que quedan de la fortificación de la Almina y su función fue servir de almacenaje y logística al conjunto del enclave. El Almacén de Abastos se dispone en el extremo oriental del sector septentrional del Conjunto de la Almina. La línea amurallada de este frente discurriría justo al norte de esta construcción, situándose a su altura la batería de Abastos. El fin del proyecto consiste en la rehabilitación y adecuación del histórico Almacén de Abastos de Ceuta para incorporar dos nuevos equipamientos culturales: el Museo Militar en la planta baja y el Archivo General de la Ciudad en la planta primera. La intervención busca conservar y poner en valor la arquitectura existente, garantizando al mismo tiempo las necesidades funcionales y ambientales de ambos usos. En la planta baja, el Museo Militar se organiza en áreas públicas y de trabajo. Se incluyen también zonas de acogida, descanso y servicios, y espacios internos para almacenamiento de piezas y gestión administrativa. En la planta primera, el Archivo General se divide en área pública, depósitos y zona de trabajo. Los depósitos deberán albergar un volumen documental muy amplio con recorridos visitables. El área de trabajo incorpora espacios de recepción y limpieza de documentos, catalogación, conservación y reprografía, junto con puestos de atención al ciudadano y despachos. El proyecto proporciona así una nueva vida cultural al edificio, combinando funcionalidad contemporánea, preservación patrimonial y servicio público. El ámbito total de intervención comprende 3.079 m2 construidos.
