Germany - Hydrogen - LE_Electrolyser_2026

Windpark Saar GmbH & Co. Repower KG, a local citizen wind farm, is procuring, installing and commissioning an electrolysis plant for green hydrogen production, including compression, storage and a trailer refuelling station, by Q2 2028. The plant will be located in the In der Au industrial area in Freisen (66629), Germany, and will supply hydrogen for buses of Saarbahn GmbH in Saarbrücken, with hydrogen produced from the operator's own wind and solar power and transported by trailer 60 to 80 km. The project is funded under the Saarland NMOB directive 'Alternative Antriebe'. Further details are in the procurement documents, especially Annex 2 performance specification.
