Die Stadt Wilhelmshaven plant, zum Schuljahr 2029/2030 eine neue Grundschule am Standort der berufsbildenden Schule Heppens (Heppenser Straße 16-18, 26384 Wilhelmshaven) zu errichten. Ziel ist die Schaffung eines modernen, pädagogisch zeitgemäßen Lern- und Lebensraumes für Schülerinnen und Schüler der Klassenstufen 1 bis 4. Die neue Grundschule ist für eine Zwei- bis Dreizügigkeit auszulegen und als offene Ganztagsschule konzipiert.
