Germany - Architectural and construction planning services - Engineering services for building systems

A hospital wants to rebuild and extend its central emergency department, which currently operates at capacity limits. Process changes require refurbishment works and extensions, and the intensive care unit located above the emergency department will also be extended. The works are publicly funded and must be carried out during ongoing hospital operations, possibly split into several construction phases to keep the facility running, with site logistics organised under very tight constraints. The contract covers specialist planning services for technical building services, work stage 4 of the HOAI fee structure, plus supplementary work stage 3 services as set out in the specification. Medical and laboratory equipment is excluded. Award is conditional on release of funding and the building permit, made stage by stage, without entitlement to further commissioning.
