Die Braunschweig Beteiligungen GmbH (BSBG) ist eine hundertprozentige Tochtergesellschaft der Stadt Braunschweig. Gleichzeitig ist sie Obergesellschaft eines Konzerns und hält eine Reihe von Tochtergesellschaften, die im Bereich der Daseinsvorsorge tätig sind. Mit aktuell zwölf Mitarbeitenden erbringt die BSBG im Wesentlichen kaufmännische Dienstleistungen für ihre Tochtergesellschaft, die Braunschweiger Verkehrs-GmbH (BSVG). Die Braunschweiger Verkehrs-GmbH (BSVG) ist eine hundertprozentige Tochter der BSBG, die mit rund 780 Mitarbeitenden (davon rund 520 im Fahrdienst) ÖPNV-Leistungen in Braunschweig erbringt. Die BSVG verfügt über den Busbetriebshof "Lindenberg" sowie den Betriebshof "Am Hauptgüterbahnhof" für die Stadtbahn samt Verwaltungssitz. Jährlich werden 37,6 Mio. Fahrgäste transportiert. Die BSVG betreibt ein eigenes Streckennetz für die Stadtbahn mit einer Länge von 39,62 km. Das Verkehrsunternehmen hat 51 Stadtbahnen und 165 Busse. Die gesamte IT inkl. des Hostings von SAP (ERP und HR), die Anwendungsbetreuung und die erweiterte Anwendungsbetreuung ist auf einen externen Dienstleister ausgelagert.
